Brief Profile of the Centre
The Shanti Kali Skill Development Centre was setup on 2nd October 2024. In line with NEP 20202 and to get the scattered efforts of the University to upgrade the skills of the students under different areas, this centre was formed. The centre has a broader mandate to offer selective skill courses to the youth of the state (from within and outside Tripura University) to prepare them for their future endeavours of pursuing Entrepreneurial as a career option. Offering skill/elective courses based on the available mentors has been practiced since inception. The course are also offered in collaboration with industry and are open to inhouse as well as affiliated college students.

Events / Courses organized since inception:
- Internship Programme for students from Rajarshi College of Education and Skills, held from 27 April 2026 to 15th June 2026, organised by the Microbial Technology Group, Tripura University, in collaboration with the Dattopant Thengadi Employment Generation Resource Centre, as well as Shanti Kali Skill Development Centre, Tripura University. Venue: Microbial Technology Laboratory, Tripura University.
- Hands-on Workshop on Bibliometric Analysis for Visualization of Research Data using VOSviewer for 2nd-year M.sc students, organised by the Microbial Technology Group (MTG), Tripura University, in collaboration with the Dattopant Thengadi Employment Generation Resource Centre (DTEGRC), Tripura University, and the Shanti Kali Skill Development Center, Tripura University, from 18 June to 6th July 2026, Time: 10 AM Onwards.
- Reimaging World Economic Order, Dattopant Thengadi Employment Generation Resource Centre (DTEGRC), TU and Shanti Kali Skill Development Centre (SKSDC), TU in the collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), TU. Venue: MBB Auditorium, TU; Dated: 15th November, 2025
- Internship Course on “Science for Society and Environment”, held from 29 October to 15 November 2025, jointly organised by the Microbial Technology Group, Tripura University under Shanti Kali Skill Development Centre, Tripura University, and the Dattopant Thengadi Employment Generation Resource Centre, Tripura University. Venue: DTEGRC, Ground Floor, Day Care Building, Tripura University. This was undertaken by students of social science departments of Women’s College Agartala.
- Elective Course on Agrowaste Valorization, six-month duration, organized by the Microbial Technology Group (MTG), Tripura University, in collaboration with DTEGRC, TU, and Shanti Kali Skill Development Centre, TU. Venue: DTEGRC, TU. Commenced on 11 August 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
